Once you
have identified the piece of software you would like, the
first step in the process is to download the file to your
local computer. On pdaJD.com, you begin this by clicking any
of the download links. These download links are located on
the software product pages. These links will allow you to
download immediately for use a demo version of certain products
or a full version after you have completed a software purchase.
Once you
have clicked on a download link, the download manager will
appear on your screen showing you the progress of the download
as in Figure 1. The download is complete once the download
manager's status bar is full.
Files
from pdaJD.com can come in a few different formats,
but they are all handled essentially the same way. They will
all come compressed and will have to be decompressed in order
to be used. The utility that will handle the decompression
is call StuffIt Expander. If you already have StuffIt Expander,
then you are ready to skip to the next section. If you don't
have StuffIt Expander, you can get it here www.aladdinsys.com/expander/index.html.
Once you have downloaded StuffIt Expander, merely double-click
on the file downloaded and StuffIt Expander will automatically
install.
